GreenCom Launches Smart Grid Commercial Flyer
With multiple partners and in-depth European research, would you like to share in GreenCom´s results?
Bosting interesting and surprising results, GreenCom project is now making available several products and services with solutions for diverse Smart Grid Challenges. A DSO Dashboard, Network monitoring solution and high speed data capture system with consumer-grade GUI are just some of the offerings.
A research project with products and services
The GreenCom DSO Dashboard is offered as open source code. It makes it possible to measure, monitor and manage local energy demand through intelligent control of both energy consuming devices as well as distributed energy generation and storage installations. Based on individual contracts with the consumer (or prosumer) that determine flexibility + load and control boundaries, a more reliable customer demand is achieved and enforced through intensive grid monitoring and automation.
On the service provider side, how can providers rely on their infrastructure to always provide service? The GreenCom Network Monitoring and Control Framework(NMCF), also offered as open source code, is a distributed service which continuously monitors the correct functioning of deployed devices, checking and logging their availability, continuously, and raising alerts if problems occurs. It includes a feature allowing for implementing of local control logic which becomes “self-aware” about the availability (or lack) of information regarding the overall micro grid.
For all parties, one of the key enablers of a Smart Grid is the engagement and flexibility of the consumer. To create awareness of own energy consumption and motivate change in energy behaviour, the GreenCom consumer solution enables the customer to follow the historical and current energy consumption of the household and selected devices and compare it with other households. GreenCom´s High Frequency Data Collection System and Consumer GUI(enControlTM) offers a fun way to compare your energy savings to your neighbours. After a consumer (or prosumer) ´s system has been set up and has been learning energy use habits for about one month, a tree will begin to fill as more efficient habits are adopted. The unique algorithm removes the need for complex home energy profiling. A paid-for-service, enControlTM links to the other GreenCom solutions and offers several other unique features and benefits.

The GreenCom project is a €4.5M project with the overall aim to balance the local exchange of energy at the community Microgrid level to prevent instability in the centralised grid. It is co-funded by the EU within the 7th Framework Programme, Objective ICT-2011.6.1 Smart Energy Grids (FP 257852). The investment in heat pump and solar panel systems on the Island of Fur is co-funded by the Danish ForskEL-programme by €0.6M.
